When I first found out that programs like "Survivor" and "Big Brother" existed and were on their way from Europe to America, I was
horrified. I couldn't believe that a concept so obviously dangerous to the mental health of its participants and so centered on people getting hurt was
actually the material for programing on major networks in a society that likes to call itself civilized. I knew right then, as a playwright, that I had to
respond to it in a very personal way, just for my own consolation and catharsis. And so the play "Jocelyn" was born. (See "My Personal
